Whispered interpreting (also known as chuchotage) is used on occasions on which only one person (in some cases, a maximum of two or three people) needs to hear the translation of a foreign language. The interpreter sits behind or next to the person needing interpretation and whispers what is being said in the room (speech, presentation, acknowledgements, etc) in the other language. This is normally used at high-level gatherings, involving politicians, such as gala dinners.
If you need whispered interpreting in Italian, Spanish, German, English or French, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
